Joey came out to his fans and received both hate and acceptance.

Joey is an animal lover. His childhood dog was given away due to the hard times his mom had. But when he made a great turn around, he adopted two huskies.

Joey's younger brother, Jett, was diagnosed with autism. Joey believes that he could make it since Joey had the same education difficulties. 

Joey and his sister Nicole were always using their imaginations as kids due to not being able to afford any toys.

Joey used to have a good relationship with his mom until she became an alcoholic and was never herself anymore.

When Joey got cyber attacked, Shane Dawson was one of the only people who stuck by his side and didn't talk bad about him for views.
